Bill died on the evening of July 19th at home in Orlando, Fla. There will be a Campus Crusade family Memorial Service in Ft. Collins on Monday night, July 21st. Please check the Staffweb at http://www.staffweb.org for a live Webcast. The date and time for a public Memorial Service will be announced shortly. Bill was not only my leader and mentor for more than 30 years; he was like a father to me. Judy and I cannot imagine our lives without his great faith, vision and love. We will miss him so. And we know that you, the staff family, will miss him dearly as well. I am reminded and comforted by what Bill said to us all: "For a believer, death should be a time of great celebration, not of sorrow. It is sad only for those who have no hope, no God and no Savior. For loved ones left behind, following the death of a believer, Jesus left a special message: '...If you really love me, you will be very happy for me, for now I can go to the Father...' (John 14:28, Living Bible)." Thanks to Jesus, death has no sting! We can indeed be happy for Bill and celebrate his homegoing. In his honor, we can each carry his faith, vision and love to those who have no hope, no God, no Savior. I know of nothing that would please Bill - and the Lord - more. Pray with me that we would all follow in the great and giant footsteps of our leader. I know Vonette would want to tell you how much she appreciates you and is thankful for all your prayers, notes and calls during Bill's illness. She and Brad will join us at CSU for the Monday Memorial Service. She is doing well, surrounded by family and friends and upheld by the prayers of many. Vonette, Zac, and Brad and their families have asked that you pray that the Lord will be lifted up in Bill's death, just as He has been in his life. To keep you updated on the public Memorial Service and other helpful information, we have designed a Web site for you at http://billbright.ccci.org. You may direct any media contacts or ministry partners to this site as well. We will update it regularly. Yours in Christ, Steve
